The New Yorker Magazine, March 8 1947, the complete issue in nice shape. Constantin Alajalov illustrated the cover. This issue includes the first publication of the Rolfe Humphries poem "Play thy game, Lord" with the repeated line "Forbid Thy Ravens," later used as a title for his book. Also in this issue: an extensive report on the US Army's Monuments, Fine Arts and Archives Division, and more. The pages are crisp and clean, without a hint of foxing or any other staining, no writing, nothing missing, with a small piece of tape at the top left corner of the cover/back cover and the cover almost loose at the top two staples. Strictly graded Good; it was put away when brand new (along with many others we have) by an obsessive New Yorker collector from whom we acquired it, untouched since new until now. We have many other exquisite vintage New Yorker issues from this once-in-a-lifetime collection, so if there is one you want that you don't see in our listings yet, please let us know. All our New Yorkers are shipped in archival-quality sleeves with backing boards.
